It can affect your normal activities, prevent you from being able to go to work, spend time with your family, and just keep you from life.

Hey guys, today we want to talk about a really common reason that we see people in our office and it’s something that can really devastate someone’s life; and that’s when people have severe headaches and migraines. A lot of our practice members come in to see us having one or more migraine headache days a week. If you’ve ever experienced a migraine, you know how significantly it can impact your life. It can affect your normal activities, prevent you from being able to go to work, spend time with your family, and just keep you from life. Chiropractic care can help reduce or eliminate headache days and help alleviate the need for medications.

Patients will frequently try over the counter medications, prescription medications, and sometimes they may even consider getting injections into their forehead and into their scalp to help (hopefully) prevent these headaches from coming. And while those things may temporarily give you relief, the problem continues to come back. That means there’s an underlying cause as to why you’re having so many headaches and so many migraines. So, let’s talk about what chiropractic may be able to do to help you with those things. As chiropractors, we adjust the bones of the spine, and what’s so amazing about our spine is that it covers and protects our nervous system. Our nervous system is what controls our body. It controls every function. It controls how we feel. It controls the aches and pains that we have. And so, what happens throughout our life is that we can experience things like a car accident or a slip and fall.

Any type of trauma can lead to these very small bones of our spine becoming misaligned. It can lead to poor posture. Our head begins to lean forward in an unnatural position. And when all of those things begin to happen, all the muscles that lie along the back of the spine are not being stretched and they pull and put pressure on the back of your head that can lead to a headache. They can also significantly pinch on the spinal nerves, which can also lead to very severe and very intense headaches.

And so, when you come into Covington Family Chiropractic, you’re going to have an assessment; we’re going to look specifically at your neck to see if the cause of your headaches and migraines could be stemming from an issue there. If we find that you do have subluxations in your spine, we’re going to realign the spine, remove the subluxations, take the pressure off these nerves, let your body begin to heal and to function at its very best.

And what you may find is that when your body’s functioning better, those challenges, those symptoms, those headaches that you’ve been having start to get better. They start to decrease in intensity and frequency. You can get back to living your life again. So, I encourage you to give us a call. If this is you, if you struggle with these types of things, we would love to be able to sit down, have a complimentary consultation with you to see what we can do to help you with your headaches. We look forward to talking to you soon, have a great day!
